Developer outlines ambitious Qatar property plans

Qatar's largest property developer has outlined ambitious building plans for the next three years to add to the 100,000 units it has already completed
Speaking at a press conference, Hisham Al Sahtari, chief executive of Ezdan Real Estate Company, said the group aimed to complete projects worth an estimated QR20 billion £35 billion between now and 2013
According to the Doha-based daily newspaper Al-Sharq, this would add between 15,000 and 20,000 additional units to its Qatar portfolio
In the first half of 2010, Ezdan announced net profits of QR1173 million and saw its assets grow by 24 per cent compared to the same period in 2009
Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, the chairman of the board, said the results were achieved in spite of difficult economic challenges, highlighting the company's strong financial position
Some of its current projects include the Ezdan International School and the Ezdan Mall 1 and 2, all of which are in Gharrafa
